The Kay Bojesen Sandman wears a light blue nightshirt, dark blue pajamas trousers, slippers and a little hat, and stands happy and smiling with his two umbrellas. The colors are tranquil and limited to cool shades of blue. The shape is based on the original Ole Lukøje figurine from Kay Bojesen's archive – simple and minimalist, but full of life and soul. Sandman has been turned in FSC® certified beechwood. He has been made by hand with the great precision and care that are the hallmarks of Kay Bojesen's wooden figurines. Kay Bojesen was able to turn wood into original stories like no other. With his deep passion for craftsmanship and eye for detail, over the years he created an imaginative world of figures and objects, each one with its own unique story. As such, he became one of Denmark’s greatest craftsmen, and his designs will continue to hold a firm place in Danish design history.
